Description:
Qualitative assessment of immunoglobulin levels.
Clinical details:
Calculated globulins may be included in the liver function test profile in some laboratories. It is a simple calculation which may indicate low immunoglobulin levels (immunodeficiency) or high immunoglobulins (e.g. polyclonal immune response; multiple myeloma).
The following equation is used in the laboratory to estimate globulins.
