Description: 
The Blood Transfusion department of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals offers a comprehensive service. However, there are a range of specialised tests which are referred to specialist laboratories at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). The local laboratory is at Tooting where there are two main laboratories, Red Cell Immunohaematology (RCI) and Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) and also the International Blood Group Reference Laboratory (IBGRL) in Bristol. Please discuss requirements for referral tests with the Laboratory and/or Haematology SpR before requesting. For information on how to order the test contact the Transfusion Laboratory.
