Tania Senior-McKenzieBSc (Hons) MSc MIBMS MBSGM
Tania completed Biomedical Science degree at Portsmouth University then registered with a locum agency. Her first locum position was in the department of haematology at King’s College Hospital where she worked as a laboratory assistant for approximately a year.
The following year she trained as a medical laboratory scientific officer (MLSO) in the same department and obtained her state registration. After rotating through the various sections in the department she enrolled on an MSc course in biomedical science and the following year she applied for her current position.
Achievements include obtaining a Master’s degree, completing a biomed –online course in gene structure and function is involved in publishing a scientific paper and managing the prenatal diagnosis service (PND).
Her role involves managing and coordinating the laboratory testing and reporting of all prenatal diagnosis referrals at King’s and submitting PND data to the National Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Screening Programme.
