Roopen Arya

Roopen Arya is Laboratory Director and Clinical Lead for Haematology at King’s College Hospital.

Roopen is a Professor of Thrombosis and Haemostasis at King’s and Director of King’s Thrombosis Centre. He is Chair of the National VTE Programme Board at NHS England and Director of the National VTE Exemplar Centres Network.

He has worked at King’s since 1991 and was appointed Consultant Haematologist in 1999. His main interests are venous thromboembolism, thrombophilia and the new anticoagulants.

Roopen heads an active programme of clinical research around thrombosis, thrombophilia and anticoagulants. His laboratory interests centre on developing the utility of global coagulation assays in clinical settings and delineating the effects of the new anticoagulants.
