John Rainer

I have 35 years experience in diagnostic Pathology, specialising in Biochemistry. I started my career as a Trainee at Farnborough Hospital and progressed through the career grades, working for Bromley Hospitals Trust, South London Healthcare Trust, and more recently Kings NHS Trust, to reach my current position of Biochemistry Laboratory Manager at the PRUH site. During this time I also worked for a period of 5 years, as a Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Diagnostic Enzymology Unit at the Institute of Child Health, part of Great Ormond Street Hospital, specialising in the diagnosis of a group of rare Inherited Metabolic Diseases. I was a member of the team when the services on the Princess Royal University Hospital site were transferred to Viapath LLP on the 1st July, 2016, and I am currently the Biochemistry Operations Manager. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Scientists and hold CSci status.
