Frances Smith

Frances studied Genetics at the University of Sheffield, then worked at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in the high throughput DNA sequencing laboratories. Frances moved to Guy’s Genetics Laboratory to complete training as a Clinical Scientist in Molecular Genetics. Following registration, Frances moved to the Institute of Cancer Research to help set up a diagnostic laboratory specialising in next generation sequencing for patients with inherited cancer syndromes.

Frances is now an Operations Manager for Viapath in Molecular Pathology at King’s.
