Aled JonesMSc
Aled discovered his interest in Genetics during his undergraduate in Human Biology at Loughborough University. After a short spell in a forensics laboratory he completed an MSc in Medical Genetics at Newcastle University. He then took a position in the Genetics Laboratories of St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester in 2009.
Aled joined the Viapath Genetics department in 2013 to undertake the Scientist Training Program (STP) in Clinical Bioinformatics (Genomics) which he completed in 2016. The training program included a MSc in Clinical Bioinformatics from the University of Manchester. Upon completion of the STP he registered with the HCPC.
He became the deputy operations lead for Bioinformatics in 2020. The Bioinformatics team supports most teams and services within the genetics laboratory by managing the MOKA LIMS system, or processing NGS data through our cloud hosted pipelines.
