Laboratory overview
The haematology department provides diagnostic support to clinical areas in the Trust. We analyse and investigate blood samples to help in the diagnosis of specific disorders and provision of blood component support if needed.
Haematology and Blood Transfusion is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory (No.8826), accredited to ISO15189:2012 for the tests listed in the schedule of accreditation on the UKAS website (https://www.ukas.com/download-schedule/8826/Medical/)
Routine laboratory hours
Routine laboratory hours are listed below, outside of this time the laboratory is staffed by an out of hours duty biomedical scientist who can be contacted via switchboard.
Royal Brompton Hospital
- Monday-Friday: 9am-5:30pm
- Weekends and bank holidays: 9am-1pm
Harefield Hospital
- Monday-Friday: 8.30am-5pm
- Weekends and bank holiday: 9am-12pm
